About Us

Who we are

We are a team of experienced and talented communications professionals who understand the realities of business. We are trusted advisers to major businesses, central and local government and the not-for-profit sector.

Sustainability is a pressing issue for citizens, investors and stakeholders today, and is at the core of what we do. Established by Nikki Wright in 2006, Wright Communications has developed our sustainability expertise to keep pace with the changing business environment. Our team are all fluent in corporate responsibility and sustainability issues.

Nikki Wright deals personally with every client, and each consultant enjoys building valued client relationships.

Pro bono support

As part of our commitment to social responsibility, we form long-term relationships with charities whose goals particularly align with our values, including Environmental Choice New Zealand, Presbyterian Support Northern and Surf Lifesaving Northern Region. We help raise awareness of the important issues they address and support them with a mix of pro-bono and reduced-cost services.

We come to work every day to help our clients ‘do the right thing’. We believe in the power of public relations to contribute to a more sustainable Aotearoa by achieving a balance between the intentions of the organisations we represent and the legitimate concerns of their stakeholders.

We accomplish this by providing a broad suite of corporate communications and marketing communications services, including stakeholder engagement, communications strategy and planning, internal communications and change management, and issues and crisis management service offerings.

We seek to do significant work that will enhance our society and our environment. We always aim to innovate with our service offerings and stay at the leading edge of best practice.

Leading New Zealand organisations choose us for our experienced multi-disciplinary consulting team and our commitment to a high standard of professionalism. We have been recognised by our peers as one of the best agencies in New Zealand.

Our values

Our agency is based on our core values of Genuine connections, Delivering exciting work, Having each other’s back and Doing the right thing, coupled with an unwavering commitment to sustainability. These values guide our behavior and thinking. Our culture sets us apart and opens the door for a diverse range of work and a happy team.

Sustainability Report

Sustainability reports provide evidence that supports your commitment to ‘doing the right thing’. We have been producing sustainability reports for our clients since 2007 and are well-versed in the GRI and <IR> frameworks.

We publish our own Sustainability Report in December.

Sustainability Policy

Putting sustainability into practice is in the best interests of our company, our society and our environment.

We do this through:

  • Pro bono work
  • Sustainable procurement: using at least 50 per cent of suppliers with a sustainability policy
  • Recycling and re-using within the office and minimising waste
  • A commitment to carbon neutrality for all our business activities

We share our policies and approach to sustainability with our clients and are glad to support them on their own sustainability journey.

Sustainable Procurement Policy

We support New Zealand’s commitment to playing its part to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Sustainable Development Goal 12—Responsible Consumption and Production states:

“Achieving Goal 12 requires a strong national framework for sustainable consumption and production that is integrated into national and sectoral plans, sustainable business practices and consumer behaviour, together with adherence to international norms on the management of hazardous chemicals and wastes.”

At Wright Communications we identify and manage the environmental, social and economic impacts within our supply chain.

Diversity & Inclusion Policy

Our Diversity & Inclusion Policy underpins our values of Doing the Right Thing and Having Each Other’s Back.

The diverse backgrounds and qualities in our team reflect the richness of New Zealand society and make us stronger as an agency.

We have zero tolerance for unlawful discrimination and harmful treatment. We create an inclusive culture by supporting talent management and career planning, flexible working arrangements, progressive employment conditions, following trends and research in diversity, and more.

Wright Communications: Covid-19 Vaccination Policy

The wellbeing of our people, and those who visit our office, is our number one priority. We want to do everything we can to keep each other safe and stop Covid-19 from spreading.

To help us minimise the risk of Covid-19 being transmitted at work, we’ve encouraged our team to get fully vaccinated against Covid-19. We are observing appropriate social distancing and hygiene measures in our offices, including not shaking hands or engaging in any greetings that involve physical contact. Hand sanitiser, face masks and antiseptic wipes are available in our reception and meeting rooms.

We also ask that anyone who feels unwell, has cold or flu-like symptoms or is awaiting the results of a Covid-19 test to stay home

Visiting our offices

If you’re visiting Wright Communications’ office, you will no longer be asked for proof of vaccination.

You can either meet in person in our boardroom, please bring a face mask with you, or alternatively, you can attend a virtual meeting or meet offsite with the appropriate physical distancing and face covering measures in place, depending on the circumstances.

Please get in touch with your Wright Communications contact to discuss the best meeting format for your needs.
