Standing shoulder to shoulder with Mainzeal in crisis
When tragedies strike in the workplace, everything boils down to making swift and right decisions, and effective communication.
The brief
Wright Communications supported our client Mainzeal through two
site fatalities at Lion Nathan's new complex being constructed in
Auckland East Tamaki in early 2009. During this time we had to draw
on our sound judgement and sensitivity as public relations
professionals, along with the foundation of trust we'd built up
with the client.
The Wright solution
We worked directly with Mainzeal Chief Executive, Peter Gomm to
issue a statement that provided the media with the information they
required, while at the same time respecting the needs of the
families in question and the live investigation. We also ensured
that Mainzeal clients and other internal stakeholders received
timely and consistent information from the company.
Client satisfaction
The resulting media coverage was respectful, not speculative and
confined to community based outlets.
