The brief
Urgent Couriers has been on a sustainability journey since the
late 1990s, and in 2007 became the first transport company in New
Zealand to become carbon neutral as part of Landcare Research's
carboNZero programme. Managing Director Steve Bonnici brought in
Wright Communications to assist in his goal of further increasing
market share by raising Urgent Couriers' business to business
profile and positioning it as the industry leader in
sustainability.
The Wright Solution
A comprehensive communications plan was developed to connect
with Urgent Couriers' key audiences - this included a flexible
media plan involving media releases and liaison with specialist
publications and mainstream media, and effective stakeholder
communications. In addition, Wright Communications' expertise in
global best-practise sustainability reporting assisted Urgent
Couriers' issue a transparent triple-bottom-line report about its
economic, social and environmental impacts in 2009. Wright
Communications has also subsequently worked with Urgent to produce
a snapshot sustainability 'scorecard', and used its writing
expertise to help Urgent Couriers craft sustainability award
entries.
