Luxury car partnership an ‘eco’ boost for farmers

"Farmlands Co-operative exists to provide solutions for our 66,000 shareholders nationwide. Our new agreement with Lexus ensures our shareholders have a complete portfolio of vehicles to choose from, on and off the farm," said Mr Reidie.

"Our shareholders work hard and it is great to provide luxury options for when they have some time away from their businesses. We are excited to welcome Lexus as a Farmlands partner."

From the 1st of April, Farmlands shareholders will have exclusive pricing across the entire Lexus range which includes a four-year warranty and service plan.

The agreement between Japan's premium, high performance and self-charging electric hybrid brand gives rural New Zealand greater access to its SUVs, cars and high-performance coupes.

Paul Carroll, the Senior General Manager of Lexus New Zealand says the brand partnership is a natural fit for Lexus.

"Many of Farmlands shareholders use their vehicles every day for working roles on their farms and properties. They also buy SUVs for a dual role as farm vehicles or cars for personal use."

"It's no secret that farmers are working tirelessly to improve the environmental impact of their operations so driving high-end low emission vehicles to and from the nearest township supports these efforts."

Mr Carroll said Lexus is known for its brave design, imaginative technology, premium quality materials and a driving experience that is suited to our unique Kiwi rural roads.

"Our cars and SUVs exude the unique Japanese quality of Omotenashi, or hospitality." The brand has earned an unwavering attitude to service excellence and an uncompromising, passionate commitment to customer care, said Mr Carroll.

Peter Reidie, Chief Executive Officer of Farmlands Co-operative, says that Lexus is a natural extension of the existing strategic partnership with Toyota, announced in 2017.

Lexus New Zealand and Farmlands have committed to a four-year working relationship, initially, that will provide both economic and safety benefits for Kiwi farmers and their families.
